NHK said today (31st) that Russia has named the plan to accept North Korean troops sent to the country for war with Ukraine "Project Vostok" in Russian, and the Eastern Plan.
He also explained that he has appointed a new major general who has been the commander of the 76th Fair Division of the Russian Army since 2020 and has worked in Syria as the head of the dispatched North Korean unit.
Regarding Russia's trend, NHK said, "It seems to be aimed at operating closely with North Korea, including where to deploy North Korean military units."
He added, "As it becomes clear that Russia is pushing for full-fledged operations, such as setting the head of the unit, the Western and Japanese governments are watching how the North Korean unit will affect the situation."
