The Ministry of Environment and Wonju-si, Gangwon-do, held a ceremony to complete the 'Wonjucheon Dam', a concrete gravity dam, upstream of Wonjucheon, Gangwon-do, this afternoon (31st).
The Wonjucheon Dam was built with 90 billion won to control the flood of Wonjucheon Stream, which causes frequent damage to human life and property during torrential downpours, and the total water storage volume is 1.8 million tons.
In particular, it is the first dam to be built after local governments and residents first proposed and provided state funds, and the Ministry of Environment plans to complete the construction of a migrant complex for the resettlement of flood victims by the end of this year.
