Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on the 30th (local time) that "men wearing body suits and masks to look like women in Japan are appearing in public places, raising concerns about women's safety."
These men are called 'tight men' in the sense that they wear tight-fitting bodysuits.
The media (SCMP) explained, "It seems to have been inspired by the mask cosplay style they put on Japanese animation culture," adding, "Mask cosplay lovers wear body suits and masks to more accurately embody their favorite animation characters."Women's safety is feared after their sightings were reported in the
subway and women's toilets.
In fact, a rather bizarre video of a person wearing full-length tights and a female face mask sitting on a Japanese subway seat in February became an online topic.
At the time, a netizen who witnessed the "tight man" closely said, "The person deliberately sat close to his body in a place where there were many women. I was a little away, but I was scared."
Currently, illegality is recognized only when identity is concealed for criminal purposes in Japan.
"There have been no reports of criminal acts related to this group yet, but their presence is causing public safety concerns," the SCMP said.
