Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati said pro-Iranian militant Hezbollah and Israel could announce a ceasefire in the coming days, Al Jazeera reported on the 31st local time.

"We are doing everything we can and we must remain optimistic that a ceasefire will be reached in hours or days," Mikati told Lebanon's Al Jazeera television the day before.

"The U.S. president's Middle East envoy, senior White House adviser Amos Hochstein, said an agreement could be reached before November 5, the U.S. presidential election," Mikati said.

"United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 is a lifeline for long-term stability in southern Lebanon," he said, stressing the full implementation of the resolution.

Israel's public broadcaster Khan reported the previous day that a draft U.S. ceasefire agreement was leaked within the first week of the 60-day ceasefire agreement, which included the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon.

The draft included a broad mandate for Israel to enter Lebanese territory to fend off threats including Hezbollah, local Israeli media said."Many reports and drafts are circulating, but they do not reflect current negotiations," White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Sabet
said in response to a request for comment on the draft.
