The government held the 7th Hydrogen Economy Committee presided over by Prime Minister Han Deok-soo today (1st) and decided to support Donghae and Samcheok in Gangwon Province and Pohang in Gyeongbuk Province as hydrogen-specialized complexes.

The hydrogen-specialized complex designated for the first time will be used as an industrial cluster area for the government and local governments to support the growth of hydrogen companies.

By 2028, the government plans to spend 500 billion won on both Donghae, Samcheok, and Pohang to set up space for corporate occupancy and create infrastructure.

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said hydrogen is a promising future industry with a global market size of trillions of dollars in 2050, stressing that he will focus his policy capabilities to lead the global hydrogen economy.
