55th Anniversary of Samsung Electronics..."Efforts to strengthen technical leadership"

Samsung Electronics celebrated its 55th anniversary amid the recent crisis of Samsung Electronics due to sluggish semiconductor business.

Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee and Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun said in their joint founding anniversary speech that all executives and employees should risk their lives and strengthen their technical leadership to secure quality competitiveness.

At the same time, he stressed that no innovation or growth can be created without change.

He also called for eliminating selfishness and barriers between departments and between leaders and members and boldly improving inefficient and conventional work methods and systems.

He added that the management will look back cool-headedly to see if the competitive spirit and desperation have weakened due to past performances, and whether it was only in reality rather than the future.

At the same time, he said, "If we all join forces with the potential we have built up so far, we can become a stronger Samsung," adding, "Let's make it an opportunity to take a new leap forward with Samsung-like challenges and innovation."

Today's ceremony was attended by more than 400 executives and employees, including Vice Chairman Han and Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun, and Chairman Lee Jae-yong did not attend as in previous years.
