The provincial education office has launched an audit after the personal information of more than 160 students was leaked from a high school in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do.

The school said on the 14th of last month that the teacher in charge of the first-year group chat room created for the field trip uploaded the wrong operation plan data containing the names and contact information of 168 students while trying to deliver safety education.

The data, which also includes a list of students who receive support for experiential learning expenses, was reported to have been deleted about an hour later.

The Chungnam Office of Education recently received a related complaint through the National Newspaper and requested an audit, and said it will conduct education to prevent recurrence for schools in the province next week.
