Let's look at the second keyword first.

What new technologies have the construction industry developed to catch noise between floors?

[Reporter]
These days, the construction industry has taken steps to develop technology to control noise between floors.

In this regard, DL E&C recently developed a 'floor structure of floor noise level 1'.

From the existing household air conditioner noise level of 38 to 40 decibels, the noise blocking performance has been improved to around 35 decibels, which is the library noise level.

High-performance buffer material that catches noise has been constructed in a simple structure to reduce the construction process and secure appropriate costs so that it can be commercialized immediately.

In addition, Hyundai Engineering developed the so-called "ceiling sound insulation structure" for the first time in the domestic construction industry.

Unlike the floor sound insulation structure previously used in the industry, it is a technology that constructs a structure to reduce inter-floor noise on the ceiling.

Umi Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. and Doosan Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. have also developed a "floor structure using high-point elastic mortar" that is effective in reducing inter-floor noise.

This is expected to reduce the floor impact sound by more than 8 to 10 decibels.

So why is the construction industry working so hard to develop inter-floor noise reduction technology?

[Reporter]
Yes. The number of inter-floor noise complaints collected from 2019 to July this year is.

It's well over 280,000 cases.

In particular, as the time spent in the living space increases after the COVID-19 incident, the number of complaints is steadily increasing and it leads to social conflict.

As a result, consumers are becoming increasingly difficult to look at.

Another reason is the government's strengthening of related regulations.

The government is tightening regulations, including that it will not grant permission to complete apartments that do not pass the minimum standards in last year's post-examination of floor noise.

However, in the process, there are concerns that small and medium-sized construction companies that lack technology compared to large construction companies will be burdened.

The possibility of an increase in construction costs due to technology development is also a homework that must be solved wisely.
