Nearly 200mm of heavy rain fell during the day today (1st) in the mountains of Jeju Island, where a heavy rain warning was issued.

Overnight, the region will receive up to 250mm more rain, and the southern coast will also receive up to 80mm.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the typhoon "Kongrey" will weaken into a temperate low pressure overnight and rain heavily on Jeju Island and the southern coast as it passes through the southern sea of Jeju Island, adding that the rain and wind will become stronger in the region between tonight and early morning tomorrow.

By 5 p.m. today, 200mm of heavy rain fell in the azalea field on Jeju Island, and 198.5mm of heavy rain was also concentrated on the triangular peak.It rained about 50mm on the southern coast, including

Goheung and Jindo.

The Korea Meteorological Administration expects up to 250mm more rain on Jeju Island by tomorrow morning, and up to 80mm of rain on the southern coast, before clearing in the afternoon.

5 to 40 mm of rain is expected in Chungcheong and southern inland areas.
