There was a physical conflict between the Office of Education and the KTU at a high school where students were studying with the CSAT just around the corner.

It happened in Gangwon-do.

Gangwon Superintendent of Education Shin Kyung-ho fell and was hospitalized, and three KTU members who were asking for an interview were also injured.

Reporter Hong Sung-wook covered it.

Gangwon Superintendent of Education Shin Kyung-ho visited a high school to encourage students who are about to take the college entrance exam.

While leaving the principal's office, I encounter teachers from the KTU who ask for an interview.

Before
, the Gangwon Office of Education announced that it would no longer follow the collective agreement signed with the KTU.

Since then, there have been protests from members of the KTU.

["Please share your words, Superintendent." Please listen."]

In a narrow hallway, people get tangled up and fall.

Shin woke up after losing consciousness for five minutes and was taken to a hospital for examination and treatment.

The Gangwon Office of Education pointed out that members of the KTU undermined the nature of education, saying that it was a violent protest at a time when about 40 students were left to conduct self-study ahead of the College Scholastic Ability Test.

[Ahn Seo-heon / Kangwon Office of Education Deputy Spokesperson: I would like to ask if infringing on students' right to learn is appropriate for the union's philosophy under the banner of true education, creating anxiety and preventing them from focusing on exams.]

On the other hand, the KTU said that it was rather an official from the Office of Education who pushed down the new sense of education, and that three members of the union also fell and received treatment in the accident.

He also argued that violent events were not true and that the education office's attitude not to communicate was a problem.

[Cho Young-guk / Policy Director of the Gangwon Branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers' Union: (The superintendent of education) says he will not accept anything or have any conversation, so I think the most problematic thing is the attitude of communication]

The Office of Education building is also currently locked against its members.

It controlled access and plastered placards around the building defending the superintendent's policy, making it impossible to hang placards for opposition.

Conflicts between the Gangwon Office of Education and the KTU are growing.

In particular, after the declaration of the destruction of the collective agreement, a condolence wreath criticizing it was delivered to the Office of Education.

Police were also dispatched over whether to remove the wreath, and it was eventually organized to turn it around and collect it inside the building.

While running parallel to educational policies such as academic background evaluation, competition, and commendation of the superintendent of education, physical conflicts eventually broke out, and both sides predicted legal action.

The damage will eventually fall on the students.
