The Incheon Metropolitan Government has launched a "half-price courier" service for local small business owners that reduces the burden of delivery costs to half of the market.

We have installed cluster centers in 30 Incheon subway stations to increase accessibility and convenience of delivery.

Reporter Kang Tae-wook reports.

Yang Young-bin, who started an online shopping mall selling aroma oil in January.

The place I found to pack the ordered product and send it to the customer is Incheon National University Station on the subway.Enter the destination in the kiosk inside the

station, receive the invoice, and put the package in.

In this way, you can save 300,000 won to 400,000 won a month by reducing the delivery cost per parcel by 2,000 won.

[Yang Young-bin / Incheon Small Business owner: First of all, it's very cost-effective. As a small business owner, it's a lot of support. And I think it's very good because you can use that energy for online marketing and development.]

This is thanks to the "half-price courier" service that Incheon City has started operating for small business owners.

To this end, the Incheon Metropolitan Government has set up collection centers at 30 stations on Incheon Subway Line 1 and 2.

The goods are transported to the delivery company's home makeup by subway and electric freight cars, not by courier vehicles, and delivered to the final destination.

The minimum standard is 2,500 won for same-day delivery and 1,500 won for regular delivery.

Compared to the market, it is 57% and 43% cheaper, respectively.

[Yoo Jung-bok / Incheon Metropolitan City Mayor: It will be able to reduce logistics costs by less than half compared to current delivery companies and reduce the time required for delivery such as same-day delivery]

Incheon City plans to invest 3.7 billion won this year to support a total of 200,000 cases.

In addition, collection centers will be installed at all subway stations on Incheon Subway Lines 1 and 2 by July next year.

Through this, it will support 800,000 cases a year next year and 1.6 million cases in 2027.
