In a written briefing, spokesman Hwang Jung-ah criticized the president's office for trying to cover the sky with the sophistry of "one of the numerous congratulatory calls," although a recording of the phone call between Myung Tae-kyun and President Yoon, who had cut ties since the presidential election, was released.
Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok also came to the National Assembly and said, "I made a brazen statement that there was nothing wrong with the phone call in a political, legal, and common sense," and asked, "Does it mean that the anger of the people now is unconventional?"
If the president refuses to hold an independent counsel until the end for the sake of his and his family's safety, it is unconstitutional in itself, adding that the Democratic Party will protect democracy with the people, starting with a rally and a 10 million signature campaign.
