It is time for 'new agricultural business' and 'new agricultural expenses' to deliver good examples of making new agricultural technology or healthy food.
Today is the story of smart farms' winter heating savings.
Reporter Oh Jum-gon covered it.

600m above sea level in Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do.
Tomato harvesting is in full swing at large smart farms.
[Sung Do Hyuk / Tomato grower: The harvest has decreased this year, but the price is so high that it's more profitable than other times]Heating is one of the most important key factors on this farm because
is high mountainous.
This year, it started a little late due to the late summer heat wave, but the heating started in the evening right after Chuseok.
This farm uses a heating system using groundwater. It uses the principle that groundwater maintains a constant temperature of about 14 degrees in winter or summer.]
The groundwater pulled from 210 meters underground is heated by a geothermal heat pump and then circulated through a metal pipe and work rail to maintain the temperature of the farm.
It also circulates warm winds through plastic pipes.
This way, the cost is much lower than heating cold water with kerosene.
[Sung Do Hyuk / Tomato grower: Compared to kerosene boilers, it's about 60 million won a year, and our flat water is saving (cooling and heating costs)]
In the hot summer, cold groundwater is used to operate the cooling system on the same principle.
The system not only reduces costs but also reduces carbon emissions, allowing it to trade remaining carbon credits and earn certain profits.
[Lee Hye-jeong / Researcher of the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency] The biggest thing is to reduce heating costs. Since geothermal is used instead of fossil fuels, participating in projects outside the emission trading system through greenhouse gas reduction can generate additional income.
Currently, there are about 290 farms participating in the carbon emission trading system project in the agricultural sector, and the Agricultural Development Institute selects about 50 additional farms every year.
