Several people were injured in an attack on children waiting to get vaccinated against polio in Gaza, Palestine.

Large gatherings were held in the Israeli capital to call for negotiations on the release of hostages.

"The Sheikh Radwan Primary Medical Center in northern Gaza was attacked, injuring six people, including four children."

This is what WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus posted on social media on the 2nd local time.

It did not mention who was responsible for the attack, but it was most likely an Israeli airstrike.

The attack is said to have taken place as children gathered to get the polio vaccine.

This was the day when the third phase of vaccination, which had been postponed, resumed.

As the spread of polio in Gaza became serious, the WHO began vaccinating in September, and during that period, it agreed to stop fighting for nine hours a day.

A large rally was held in the Israeli capital, Tel Aiv, calling for the release of hostages.

Participants spoke out that Israel had achieved its military goals in Gaza, and that it was time to reach a political agreement.

The families of the victims called for active negotiations, saying the swift release of all hostages would be a "great victory" for Israel.

[Ben Adelberg / Citizens of Del Aviv: Negotiating teams must do everything to make a deal or to stop the war and bring hostages back to their families, to our society. Everyone is waiting.]

But the prospects for negotiations are bleak.

Israeli media outlet Yinet quoted a senior Israeli official as saying Hamas insisted on a complete end to the war, making incremental negotiations difficult.

"Negotiations are not moving in a hopeful direction," the official said.
