Anger at Spain's worst disaster...Protests chanting 'killer' to the king

Public anger is growing in Spain, where the worst natural disaster in Spain's history killed more than 210 people.

On the 3rd local time, King Felipe VI of Spain, along with Queen Leticia, visited Valencia Piporta, where more than 60 people were killed in the floods.

The king traveled around the affected area to console him, but angry residents surrounded the king's party, hurling insults at him as "killer" and throwing mud and objects.

The king's party, humiliated by mud on their faces and clothes, cut short their time and ended their visit to Paris Porta, followed by cancellations of other planned visits to flood-stricken areas.

The Associated Press and others reported that the lack of response by authorities, such as taking more than 10 hours to send emergency disaster safety texts, has increased casualties, and public anger is growing as search and recovery work have been delayed since then.

With at least 217 people killed in Spain's deadliest floods in modern history, the number of victims is expected to rise further as many are still missing.
