By 2033, all 15 underground shopping malls in the city, which are public property in Incheon, will be changed to a direct management system of public institutions under the city.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that the Incheon Facilities Corporation plans to directly operate 11 underground shopping malls that are currently being managed and entrusted to individual shopping corporations.

First of all, five places, Inhyeon, Sinbupyeong, Bupyeong-Jungang, Seokbawi, and Juan Station, will be converted into direct management systems next year when the consignment period of the commercial corporation ends.

After next year, we plan to introduce a direct management system sequentially to underground shopping malls whose consignment expires and conclude the conversion with Juan Citizen's Underground Shopping Center in 2033.

Currently, 11 of the 15 underground shopping malls owned by the city are managed by private corporations, and only 4 are directly managed by the Incheon Facilities Corporation.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government believes that the direct management system of the industrial complex has advantages in terms of transparency, expertise, and safety in the management of facilities in underground shopping malls.

In addition, it is expected to increase management efficiency and reduce the economic burden on tenants by integrating and managing four to six underground shopping malls in three areas: Dongcheon, Bupyeong, and Michuhol station areas.
