Korea's first online union launch...Sign up regardless of job type or industry

An online union has been established in which office workers or job seekers working for small businesses without labor unions can join anyone regardless of their occupation or occupation.

Civic group Workplace Gapjil 119 said it has launched an online union that anyone can participate in based on online cafes.

The organization explained that it created an online union considering that the nation's union membership rate was only 13.1% as of the end of 2022 and that it is difficult for office workers who work for small companies or are freelancers to join the union.

It added that online unions were needed to protect their rights, especially as there were many industries where bullying in the workplace was severe and the industry was narrow, making it difficult to even raise problems.
