In the middle of last month, North Korea, which blew up some of the roads on the north side of the Gyeongui and Donghae lines, has piled up piles of dirt to block tanks on both roads.

The South Korean military revealed how North Korea has been carrying out so-called fortification work. I'll connect you with a reporter to find out about the news.

Reporter Kim Moon-kyung! North Korea was seen installing piles of dirt on the road it blew up?

That's right. The Joint Chiefs of Staff released a photo showing the related figure.

First, the photos released showed that North Korea piled up piles of dirt on the road it blew up.

The height of the dirt pile on the East Sea Line is 5m and the Gyeongui Line is 11m.

At the back of this pile of dirt, both sides were about 50m long.

In front of a pile of dirt on the East Sea Line, a 160-meter-long tram blocking pit was constructed with concrete.

The concrete was found to be 5m high and 10m wide.

In addition, a pit was built in front of a pile of dirt on the Gyeongui Line, and the length of the pile of dirt on the left and right sides was found to be about 120m.

A military official said that an artificial flag was hung on the dirt of the Gyeongui Line to symbolically express the two hostile countries.

He also said that since North Korea blew up two roads in the middle of last month, 300-400 people have been mobilized every day to build related facilities.

North Korea previously blew up roads along the Gyeongui and East Sea lines on the 15th of last month.

Prior to the bombing, the North Korean General Staff announced that it would completely cut off roads and railroad tracks connected to the Republic of Korea and fortify them with solid defensive structures.

A South Korean military official said, "However, it seems to be a show-off construction rather than a solid construction of the related structure."

He added that it appears to be capable of being torn down or restored to its original state quickly.

So far, I'm Kim Moon-kyung of YTN at the Ministry of National Defense.
