The forum, organized by Gyeonggi Province as an academic event for the DMZ Open Festival, focuses on finding a vision for the DMZ's sustainable "ecology" and "peace."
Choi Jae-cheon, co-chairman of the DMZ Open Festival, said at the opening ceremony, "The DMZ on the Korean Peninsula, which is the last remaining disputed area, is no longer the land of the Republic of Korea, but it is time for deep discussion of peace and ecology in the DMZ."
Following the opening ceremony, the DMZ Eco-peace Forum will be divided into 18 sessions with 70 domestic and foreign experts from 10 countries participating at the KINTEX Exhibition Center in Goyang on the 5th and 6th.
