Police are also investigating victim A for the theft of billions of won worth of cash from an unmanned warehouse near Jamsil Station in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Commissioner Kim Bong-sik said at a regular press conference today (4th) that he has launched an internal investigation to check whether the source of the damage is related to the crime.

Commissioner Kim explained the reason for the investigation, saying that the situation of entrusting billions of won in cash to an unmanned warehouse itself is abnormal, and that although he is a victim, he cannot rule out the possibility of criminal proceeds.

The police believe that A kept a large amount of cash in an unmanned warehouse after leaving the country before the incident.
