"The first North Korean troops have already been attacked in Kursk," Andriy Kovalenko, director of the disinformation response center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, wrote on Telegram, according to Ukrainian media RBC-Ukraine.
However, he said that details such as the damage to the North Korean military have not been revealed.
When Kovalenko appeared on Ukraine's state broadcaster on the 31st of last month, he said the North Korean military had not yet participated in the battle but would soon be deployed.
A high-ranking official in Ukraine's presidential office also replied, "I think so," when asked by KBS reporters, "Did the fighting with North Korea officially begin?"
KBS said the official backed Kovalenko's words, saying, "Kobalenko's announcement represents the National Security and Defense Commission of Ukraine."
