Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin welcomed North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Sun-hee, who is on a working visit to Russia at the Kremlin.
President Putin mentioned that the two met on National Unity Day, a Russian holiday, and Foreign Minister Choi replied that he conveyed Kim Jong-un's "gentle and hot comradely greetings."
Earlier, the Kremlin said last week that Putin had no plans to meet with Foreign Minister Choi.
Foreign Minister Choi Sun-hee has visited Russia since the 29th of last month, and on the 1st, he held a "strategic dialogue" with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to show off the close ties between the two countries.
