The Democratic Party of Korea pointed out that there is no way to soothe the hearts of the people who turned around without accepting the special prosecution ahead of President Yoon Suk Yeol's public statement and press conference.

Cho Seung-rae, a senior spokesman, said in a written briefing that Kim Gun-hee was not cold-hearted again this time, saying, "If we try to move on with a few excuses and an apology, it will be like adding fuel to the burning public sentiment."

President Yoon then said, "We have to choose whether it is a citizen or a spouse," stressing that the acceptance of Kim's special prosecutor is the minimum condition for sincere reflection, apology, and reform of state affairs.

He also thoroughly reflected on the overall failures of state administration, such as the medical crisis, the breakdown of people's livelihoods, and the security crisis, and urged the government and the presidential office to overhaul personnel and change the state administration stance.
