Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon criticized President Yoon Suk Yeol's reading of the prime minister's address to the National Assembly, saying, "It is very wrong to read the address to the prime minister for the first time in 11 years because he is not enough to be the first president to miss the opening ceremony of the National Assembly."

Governor Kim said at a press conference for next year's budget plan, "Our economy and society are in a total crisis, so the president is obligated to explain the exact diagnosis and solution of the current situation and the government's policy stance for next year and inform the public directly."

Regarding the contents of the speech, Governor Kim also pointed out, "Self-praise on the achievements so far was also jarring, and there was no mention of the medical crisis, tax revenue slump, worsening inter-Korean relations, and military closeness between North Korea and Russia."

"I am very disappointed with such a content that repeats itself as a sound budget while misleading the tight budget," he said. "We hope that various wrong policy directions and budgeting will be properly caught through in-depth discussions during the deliberation of the budget bill at the National Assembly."
