Last month, CCTV footage of the time was released amid reports that the head of a labor union at a public institution affiliated with Busan had assaulted an intern at a dinner party.

The Busan Nambu Police Station is investigating a man in his 40s who is the chairman of the Busan Cultural Center of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions on charges of special assault and other charges.

Earlier on September 10, A assaulted intern B's head and neck with shoes and cigarette packs at a restaurant in Nam-gu, Busan.

CCTV footage released by MBC at the time showed A suddenly taking off his shoes and pushing B's head sitting opposite him.

In addition, he hit B's hands and head with a cigarette pack outside the restaurant, and hit his head with his palm.

Victim B sued A to the police and reported it to his agency as 'workplace harassment'.

Mr. A is said to have explained the incident to the effect of "a normal man-to-man contact at a drinking party."
