Seongnam Urban Development Corporation has filed a lawsuit against Lee Jae-myung, the then mayor of the Democratic Party, and others in connection with the suspicion of preferential development in Daejang-dong.

On the 10th of last month, Seongnam Urban Development Corporation filed a 500 million won lawsuit against five people, including CEO Lee and former head of the Democratic Party's political coordination office Jeong Jin-sang.

The corporation said it filed a lawsuit first because it feared that the statute of limitations on the right to claim damages would end due to delays in the results of the criminal trial related to Lee's alleged Daejang-dong, and explained that the amount of claims is likely to change in the future.

CEO Lee is on trial for causing 489.5 billion won in damages to Seongnam Urban Development Corporation by driving preferential treatment to private businesses during the development of Daejang-dong while serving as mayor of Seongnam.
