Asked about the trend of North Korean troops dispatched to Russia, Defense Ministry spokesman Ha Yong-kyu said at a regular briefing today.
He then said there was no confirmation of some reports that more than 40 North Korean soldiers were killed in combat with Ukrainian forces.
Regarding the reason why the ROK military's overseas dispatch order was changed from mandatory to optional procedures in August, he explained that the order was revised to improve the irrationality of having to deliberate when requested unconditionally.
He added that as the government delegation who went to Ukraine returned home, government-level reviews will be conducted based on what was confirmed at the site and follow-up measures will be taken if there is any need for the Ministry of Defense.
