The most intense U.S. presidential main vote of all time is taking place across the United States as of this time.

At 8 a.m. in our time, the counting of votes will begin in earnest with the announcement of exit polls in each state, and it will take some time to confirm the election.

I'll connect to Washington to find out about the local voting status.

Yes, it's Washington.]

It's time for voting right now. What's the atmosphere like on the spot?

[Reporter]
I'm at the Arthur Capper Community Center polling station in Washington, DC.

It's past 3:50 p.m. local time. Even though it's not a holiday, many voters still visit polling places here.

Voters who visited the polling station expressed their expectations for the outcome of the election, saying they were voting precious for the future of the United States.

Let's listen to the voters firsthand.

[Daniel Lipperger Schuller/Washington DC Voter: I think choosing between the two presidential candidates in this election is important because it determines a lot about the direction our country is going forward.]

[Caitlin Gleispy/ Washington DC Voter: I'm very anxious every minute. I dream of a better future where people feel safer and speak out through voting.]

As of this time, voting is underway in 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.

Voting will be completed at 6 p.m. local time in Indiana and Kentucky, where the main vote ends first, and in seven competing states, it will be held until 10 p.m. Eastern time.

The final deadline for the U.S. presidential vote is Alaska, which ends at 3 p.m. our time.

I'm also curious about the results of the vote count and exit poll. When will it be released?

[Reporter]
Exit polls are expected to come out immediately after voting ends for each state.

The results of the exit poll will be announced from 8 a.m. in Korean time.

The counting of votes will also begin at 8 a.m. in the eastern part of the country, including Indiana.

An hour later, at 9 a.m., the vote will begin with the end of the vote in Georgia, a state in the competition.

Other contending states, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada, will start counting after the polls close.

However, the timing of the vote count's confirmation is unknown.

During the 2020 presidential election, it took four days to confirm the results.

This year, the early voting craze has led to more than 83 million people voting by mail or face-to-face early voting as of today, leading to predictions that it will take a significant amount of time to confirm the final winner.

There are 244 million U.S. presidential voters this year.

More than 67 million people have applied for mail-in ballots, and Pennsylvania, a key rival state, is expected to take up to 13 days as it opens and checks sealed mail-in ballots starting today, the day of the election.

Vice President Harris and former President Trump also finished voting, right?

[Reporter]
Two days before the U.S. presidential election, Harris completed early voting by mail at a black church in Detroit, Michigan.

In local time, Harris returned to Washington, DC, last night from her last campaign rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she held a meeting with her staff in her office to respond to the number of post-election cases.

"American people are tired of division," he told Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh Radio earlier today, stressing that "leadership is not a rebuke, it's about trying to find common ground."

When the vote count starts, he plans to watch the vote count broadcast at Howard University, his alma mater in the Washington, DC area.

Trump, who chose the Michigan Grand Rappies as his last campaign stop in 2016, returned to his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida, in the morning.

Former President Trump finished voting in West Palm Beach, Florida, with his wife, Melania, today local time.

He told reporters that he was very confident and that he would win a big victory today.

When asked if he would accept it if he lost, he repeated his previous position that he would accept it if it was a fair election.

Lastly, it is of keen interest to see who will be elected in the first match.

[Reporter]
On the day of the presidential election, both broadcasting and newspaper media, including CNN and Fox News, are unable to predict their chances of winning the election prematurely.

The British Economist analyzed the model for predicting the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, with Vice President Harris and former President Trump's last expected win rate of 50-50 percent.

However, the economist's analysis is that Vice President Harris' rise was observed at the end of the presidential election starting on October 30.

Compared to a week ago, Vice President Harris' expected win rate increased by 5 percentage points, and former President Trump lost 5 percentage points.

Expectations for securing the electors for the two candidates are 270 for Vice President Harris, two ahead of Trump's 268, but they are still close.
