At this time, the main vote for the U.S. presidential election is taking place across the U.S., including seven competing states.

In our time, the vote count is expected to begin in earnest from 8 a.m., but it will take some time to confirm the election.

Let's connect New York, USA, to find out the current voting status. Correspondent Lee Seungyoon!

There are state-to-state main voting for the presidential election across the United States, right?

[Reporter]
Voting is underway from 7 a.m. local time in the United States.

It's a weekday evening, and many voters still cast their precious votes.

As of this time, voting is underway in 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.

Voting will be completed at 6 p.m. local time in Indiana and Kentucky, where the main vote ends first, and in seven competing states, it will be held until 10 p.m. Eastern time.

The final deadline for the U.S. presidential vote is Alaska, which ends at 3 p.m. our time.

We've heard from voters who came to the polls.

[Daniel Ripperger Schuller / U.S. Voter: I think choosing between the two presidential candidates in this election is important because it determines a lot about the direction our country is going forward.]

[Caitlyn Gleispy / US Voter: I'm very anxious every minute. I dream of a better future where people feel safer and speak out through voting.]

Does the counting start right away? When will the votes be counted?

[Reporter]
The counting of votes will begin at 8 a.m. in the eastern part of the country, including Indiana.

An hour later, at 9 a.m., the vote will begin with the end of the vote in Georgia, a state in the competition.

Other contending states, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada, will start counting after the polls close.

The timing of the vote count's confirmation is unknown.

During the 2020 presidential election, it took four days to confirm the results.

This year, the early voting craze has led to more than 83 million people voting by mail or face-to-face early voting as of today, leading to predictions that it will take a significant amount of time to confirm the final winner.

There are 244 million U.S. presidential voters this year.

More than 67 million people have applied for mail-in ballots, and Pennsylvania, a key rival state, is expected to take up to 13 days as it opens and checks sealed mail-in ballots starting today, the day of the election.

Vice President Harris and former President Trump are also interested in today's move.

[Reporter]
Two days before the U.S. presidential election, Harris completed early voting by mail at a black church in Detroit, Michigan.

"American people are tired of division," he told Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh Radio earlier today, stressing that "leadership is not a rebuke, it's about trying to find common ground."

The plan is to watch the vote-counting broadcast at Howard University, his alma mater in the Washington, DC area, when the vote count begins.

"Together, we will win tremendous victories and make America great again," former President Trump said on his social media.

The Trump camp will host a viewing event for the presidential election vote in Palm Beach, Florida, and attention is being paid to whether former President Trump, who returned to his Mar-a-Lago mansion, will join.

Let's hear from the two candidates.

[CAMALA HARRIS / VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES] Thank you for everything you've done so far. This shows us reaching out to reach out to people and the fact that we're together.

[Donald Trump / Former President of the United States: I know what I'm going to say if I win, and I don't even want to think about losing. I want to tell everyone in line to stay in line. We have a huge line of Republican supporters, and Democratic supporters can leave if they want.

Lastly, it is of keen interest to see who will be elected in the first match. What's the atmosphere like in the local area?

[Reporter]
In a brief message from the preliminary results of the exit poll, Pennsylvania's favorability survey, the largest rival, showed 47% favorable views of former President Trump and 46% favorable views of Vice President Harris.

On the day of the presidential election, both broadcasting and newspaper media, including CNN and Fox News, are unable to predict their chances of winning the election prematurely.

The British Economist analyzed the model for predicting the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, with Vice President Harris and former President Trump's last expected win rate of 50-50 percent.

However, the economist's analysis is that Vice President Harris' rise was observed at the end of the presidential election starting on October 30.

Compared to a week ago, Vice President Harris' expected win rate increased by 5 percentage points, and former President Trump lost 5 percentage points.

Expectations for securing the electors for the two candidates are 270 for Vice President Harris, two ahead of Trump's 268, but they are still close.
