Prosecutors have demanded a heavy sentence for Song Young-gil, former chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, who is considered the pinnacle of the suspicion of spreading money envelopes at the Democratic Party of Korea

The prosecution asked the court to sentence former representative Song to six years in prison for violating the Political Fund Act and bribery charges and three years in prison for violating the party law at the Seoul Central District Court today (6th).Former leader

Song is accused of intervening in the process of distributing money envelopes containing some 60 million won to lawmakers and others in the party in order to be elected as party leader at the 2021 Democratic Party of Korea National Convention.

Former lawmaker Yoon Kwan-seok, who is accused of raising more than 60 million won in money envelope funds, was recently sentenced to two years in prison by the Supreme Court.
