The government has decided to strengthen safety management for flight attendants exposed to space radiation.

The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission said it held discussions at the conference room of the Korea Aviation Association in Gangseo-gu, Seoul to strengthen the safety management of space radiation for flight attendants with 11 domestic air carriers attending.

The meeting shared achievements such as improving the crew's awareness of the space radiation safety management system and establishing a foundation for measuring equipment, and discussed plans to promote life cycle protection information management of crew members.

Air carriers should investigate and analyze the radiation exposure dose of 20,000 crew members according to the life radiation method and conduct medical examinations.

The commission added that it will continue to review and supplement the system for the safety management of space radiation for flight attendants.
