YTN reported yesterday (6th) the false academic background of Chairman Cho Kyu-yeon of the May 18 Injured People's Association and the suspicions surrounding his actions during May 18.

There are 17 confirmed criminal records of Chairman Cho, who has even been suspected of involvement in a gang.

Chairman Cho Kyu-yeon, who is currently under investigation for illegal debt collection and assault, told YTN that he is by no means a gangster.

The Gwangju Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating illegal collection charges of Chairman Cho, who made threatening calls several times.

In response, Chairman Cho Kyu-yeon said, "I explained it to the effect that I would get the money back from my daughter because the debtor I was close to did not pay me back."

In 1993, the Yonhap news agency article that reported the prosecution's arrest of a gangster said that one of the suspects was Cho Kyu-yeon.

Even the address coincides with the application for May 18th subsidy that Chairman Cho applied to Gwangju Metropolitan City in the same month.

What's unusual is that he was just 31 years old at the time, and he wrote that he had 14 criminal convictions, and Chairman Cho explained that the prosecution inflated the case at the time.

In the meantime, Cho Kyu-yeon, chairman of the May 18 injured, was also charged with using violence against members in May, and an investigation is being conducted at Gwangju Seobu Police Station.
