U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris officially acknowledged her defeat in the presidential election, saying, "We have to accept the election results."

Harris made the remarks in a acceptance speech at Howard University in Washington, D.C., her alma mater.

Vice President Harris stressed that he will never give up the fight for freedom, opportunity, fairness, dignity, and ideals for everyone, although it is not the result we want and the result we have targeted and fought for.

With Vice President Harris' acceptance of the presidential election results, former President Trump will be able to start the process of taking office as the 47th U.S. president in January next year.

Before her acceptance speech, Harris called Trump to congratulate him on his presidential defeat and discussed the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and becoming president for all Americans.
