KNOC asks Ministry of Industry to approve 'First Drilling Plan for Great Whale'

The Korea National Oil Corporation has submitted its first exploration and drilling plan to the government in the East Sea deep-sea gas field.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy received a document from the Korea National Oil Corporation this week to approve the plan for the exploration and drilling of the blue whale gas field and is reviewing the related contents.

The plan includes candidates for the first drilling point, which is likely to find oil.

The Ministry of Industry will discuss the related matters at the third development strategy meeting to be held later this month.
