Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon emphasized the election of U.S. President Donald Trump, saying, "We should not neglect our efforts to 'self-reliance' while solidifying the South Korea-U.S. alliance."

Mayor Oh said on Facebook today (7th), analyzing that Trump supporters have expanded and become more solid, and that U.S. priority has now become the "new normal" of the U.S.

The U.S. is South Korea's most important "unique" ally, but it has also become self-evident that South Korea's diplomatic security cannot be trusted only by U.S. consideration, he said, predicting that Trump will respect South Korea more when it becomes stronger.

Mayor Oh said, "In the end, the ROK-U.S. alliance can also be stronger when we are helpful," and argued that it is important to strengthen South Korea's potential nuclear capabilities and secure technological superiority.
