For the first time, the British daily Guardian reported that Israeli forces have admitted for the first time that they are trying to drive Palestinians out of northern Gaza completely.

The Guardian reported that Brigadier General Izyk Cohen of the Israeli army told his own reporters on the night of the 5th local time, "I have no intention of allowing northern Gaza residents to return home."

"Humanitarian aid will be allowed to enter southern Gaza regularly, but it will not be allowed as there are no civilians left in the north," Brigadier Cohen continued.

However, the Guardian noted that such measures could amount to war crimes such as forced migration or weaponization of food under international humanitarian law.

Earlier, the Israeli military had consistently denied criticism that it was pushing the remaining residents of the region into the south during the re-offensive and siege of northern Gaza.
