The ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command said today that it held a ceremony at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, to mark the 46th anniversary of its founding under the supervision of Deputy Commander Kang Shin-chul.

In his commemorative speech, Deputy Commander Kang said North Korea and Russia are trying to make extreme choices like prisoners in the prisoner's dilemma, so they should show the strong power of the South Korea-U.S. alliance to prevent them from doing so.

"We have to overcome any difficulties together," he said, stressing that the root of our power lies in the fact that South Korea and the U.S. are comrades who can bleed together on the battlefield.

The U.S. Forces Korea also reported on its website the 46th anniversary of the ROK-U.S. alliance, saying that the ROK-U.S. alliance will remain a symbol of the alliance while maintaining a "Fight Tonight" posture to defend South Korea and curb any threats from the enemy.
