Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is strongly opposed to a cease-fire to cede territory to Russia, AFP reported.

"There has been a lot of talk about giving in to Putin and making concessions, which is unacceptable to Ukraine and suicide to Europe as a whole," President Zelensky said at the European Political Community summit in Budapest, Hungary, on the 7th local time.

Zelenskyy called for strong support from European leaders to confront Russia, saying that peace through power is especially urgent.

The speech is interpreted as being conscious of the election of former President Trump, who has vowed to end Ukraine as soon as possible in the U.S. presidential election.

Earlier, the Trump campaign proposed a solution to the war in Ukraine with the aim of negotiating with Russia based on the current boundary during the presidential election.

Now that Russia occupies about 20% of Ukraine's territory, there are concerns that Ukraine may have to cede much of its territory.

President Zelensky also pointed out that "North Korea is actually waging war in Europe right now," and that "North Korean soldiers are trying to kill our people on European soil."

In a video address on the 5th, President Zelensky said North Korean troops had fought with Ukrainian forces, adding, "The first battle with North Korean soldiers opened a new chapter of global instability."
