Prime Minister Han urgently orders "best to save lives" in sinking Jeju fishing boat

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo urgently ordered the government to do its best to save lives in the wake of the sinking of a fishing boat in the waters of Bido Island, Jeju.

Han told the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and the Korea Coast Guard to do their best to save lives quickly by mobilizing all available vessels and fishing boats and merchant ships operating around them.

It also ordered the Ministry of National Defense to support lighting bombs and deploy aircraft to cooperate with the Coast Guard's rescue efforts as much as possible to facilitate night search operations.

At the same time, he urged the safety of rescue teams during the search and rescue process.
