Tesla shares are trading higher day after day as Tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to show off his friendship with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

Tesla shares rose to $299.75 and 3.89% at one point during the day, setting a new 52-week high and closing at $296.91, up 2.9% from the previous session.

The closing price is the highest level in approximately two years and two months since the intraday high of $300.80 on September 21, 2022.

In addition, Tesla's stock price return for the year jumped to 19.5%, with its market capitalization rising to $953.1 billion.

Tesla shares jumped 14.75% in a day after Trump's election was confirmed the day before, and rose sharply for the second day, indicating that investors' expectations continue.

Musk posted a composite image of himself holding a sink in the background of the White House on X the day before, stressing that he is now set to work at the White House.
