An Israeli soldier stationed in Gaza has sparked controversy on social media as he opens fire with a machine gun in celebration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's victory.

According to a screen posted on social media on the 6th local time, an Israeli soldier smiles at the camera and says, "It is a celebration of Donald Trump's election," and "God bless the United States and Israel."

The soldier then cheers, firing at least six rounds with a machine gun, and laughter can be heard as the camera shines on distant buildings.

"The soldier's actions do not meet the military's values," the Israeli military said in a statement. "He will be disciplined."
