The 129-ton Busan-registered Venus ship carrying 27 sailors sank around 4:30 a.m. today (8th) in waters 24 kilometers northwest of Biyangdo Island, Jeju.After the
accident, a nearby ship rescued 15 people and took two people to the hospital, but they died, and 12 crew members are missing and the Coast Guard is searching for them.About 20 coast guard and naval ships and eight aircraft are deployed to search for missing people in the sea of
accident.
The Venus ship is said to have sunk while transferring its catch to a transport ship.
At the time of the accident, there were two people inside the fishing boat, and the rest of the crew were working on the deck, but they were reportedly not wearing life jackets.
