A man in his 20s, who was arrested and charged with joining the army on behalf of the soldier's salary, filed an application for a psychiatric evaluation in his first trial, claiming that he was mentally and physically weak.

The 27-year-old Cho, who appeared at the trial held at Chuncheon District Court, admitted that he had joined the military as a proxy and expressed his opinion to the court that he would apply for a mental evaluation.

Cho, who was discharged from the military due to mental health problems in the past, decided to share half of the soldiers' salaries in exchange for joining the military on behalf of Choi, who he learned through the Internet community, and entered Hongcheon boot camp in Gangwon-do last July.

At that time, Cho pretended to be Choi, such as submitting Choi's resident registration card and Nara Love Card to an employee of the Military Manpower Administration, and was tested for enlistment and served in the military for three months.

The proxy enlistment was revealed for the first time since the establishment of the Military Manpower Administration in 1970, when Choi, who was afraid of being caught, turned himself in last September.
