On the 6th local time, 43 monkeys escaped from a medical research facility in South Carolina, USA, and staff lured them with food and others to capture them alive.
Police explained that the monkeys ran away when a new staff member of the lab did not close the monkey enclosure completely.
"Monkeys are females weighing about 3kg, still young and small, and have never been used in experiments," he said. "They are harmless and rather scared because they are not infected by any disease."
However, nearby residents were advised to close windows and doors to prevent monkeys from entering, and to call 911 immediately if they found them.
The facility supplies experimental monkeys around the world, and in 2018, dozens of monkeys escaped and were fined $12,600 by federal authorities.
