A system will be implemented next year to divide the court's ninth-grade civil servants by region and make them mandatory to work in the area for five years.

The court administration announced this today (8th) and announced legislative amendments to some of the court officials rules.

There are a total of six regions to be recruited by region, including Chuncheon District Court, Daejeon and Cheongju District Court, Daegu District Court, Busan, Ulsan, Changwon District Court, Gwangju and Jeonju District Court, and Jeju District Court.

Those who pass through regional recruitment will be prohibited from transferring to other areas for five years from the date of appointment.

Earlier last month, the Judicial Policy Advisory Committee, an advisory body for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, proposed to Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae to introduce a regional recruitment system to secure long-serving public officials in local courts.
