The Supreme Court will begin a full-fledged hearing on the divorce of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Art Center Director Noh So-young.

The Supreme Court did not make a decision to dismiss the divorce of Chairman Chey Tae-won and Director Roh So-young until midnight yesterday (8th) and began a full-fledged hearing.

The dismissal of non-continuity of the hearing is a system in which the Supreme Court dismisses the appeal without an original hearing, and the Supreme Court must decide whether to dismiss it or not within four months from the date of receipt of the appeal record.

As the deadline for dismissing the non-continuity of the hearing has passed, the two sides are expected to face off fiercely over whether Chairman Choi's stake in SK is a "special property" that will be removed from the property division.

Currently, Director Roh emphasizes that Choi's wealth was achieved through the "non-fungible active support" of Director Roh's family, so it is necessary to divide the property as shown in the second trial's conclusion.

On the other hand, Chairman Choi's side is confronting, saying, "SK stocks are not subject to division because they are inherited from the previous chairman."

It is also an issue whether the "error of judgment" of the second trial court influenced the conclusion, and Choi's side argues that the Supreme Court should make a judgment again as it ruled based on a miscalculation.

Earlier, the Seoul High Court belatedly corrected the stock value in its ruling, but drew a line that there was no real impact on the division of property.

Currently, the first division of the Supreme Court, which is presided over by Supreme Court Justice Seo Kyung-hwan, is looking into the case, and if there is a disagreement in the sub-division or if it is judged to be of great social significance, it may move on to an all-in-one consensus, where all the Supreme Court Justices participate and draw conclusions.
