Trump Prepares to Clear Biden..."Planning to Leave the Paris Agreement"

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to step up efforts to clear the trail of sitting President Biden upon taking office.

As part of that, it was reported that the government planned to withdraw from international agreements aimed at preventing global warming in a second term, following the first.

The first thing to be discussed is the re-cancellation of the Paris climate change agreement.

The Paris Agreement, which was adopted in 2015 and marks its 10th anniversary this year, aims to limit the increase in average global temperature to 1.5 degrees Celsius or less compared to pre-industrial times.

The U.S. ratified the Paris Agreement under President Barack Obama in 2016, but declared its withdrawal the following year, his first year in office, saying the Trump agreement interfered with business activities.

The New York Times reported that Trump's transition team has already prepared executive orders and presidential proclamations that can be implemented immediately after taking office.

At the same time, he added that it was withdrawing from the Paris climate change agreement.

It also said permission to build LNG export facilities, which President Biden put on hold in January, was also expected to resume, saying he needed time to study the impact of liquefied natural gas exports on climate change and the economy.

The New York Times also reported that the White House will have a so-called "energy tsar" position to coordinate policies among government departments to expand oil, coal and gas production and ease related regulations.
