At least 26 people were killed and more than 40 injured in an explosion believed to be a suicide bombing at a train station in southwestern Pakistan.According to Reuters, local police said a bomb exploded inside a train station in Quetta, Baluchistan, on the morning of the 9th when an express train was about to leave.

Police say the blast is believed to be a suicide bombing targeting soldiers, with 14 of the dead being soldiers, and many of the wounded in critical condition.

Baluchistan Liberation Army, an armed Baluchist separatist group, claimed responsibility for the attack and that it had targeted troops.

Baluchistan is a region frequently attacked by armed groups in southern separatists, and a series of attacks have recently taken place against Chinese participants in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project, which is part of China's Belt and Road Initiative.
