It is said that fall is not like autumn this year.

Following September, it was analyzed that temperature and precipitation all left unprecedented records in October.

From the beginning of November, the winter cold has come below zero, so how about the rest of the fall?

It is 'Autumn', the most beautiful time of the year when the mountains become active.

But this year has been very different.

In the first month of autumn, summer heat waves and tropical nights continued until September, and record-breaking downpours fell with typhoon-like rain clouds overlapping in the autumn rainy season.

Even in October, when the weather was exceptionally changing, temperatures and precipitation were all-time high,

The national average temperature was 16.1 degrees, ranking second all-time since the observation, and the average precipitation was 1.8 times (115.8 mm) higher than the average (63.0 mm).

In particular, the number of precipitation days was 11, 5.1 days more than the average (5.9 days), the highest in 51 years since the observation in 1973.

Autumn has disappeared for two months from September to October.

[Roh Yu-jin / Forecaster of the Korea Meteorological Administration] In October this year, many places recorded higher temperatures and more precipitation than usual. The reason seems to be that warm and humid southern winds continue to flow in and that sea surface temperatures around the Korean Peninsula have remained at the highest level in the last decade.]

As a result, autumn foliage also began this year 6 to 15 days later than usual.

In particular, Hallasan Mountain had its first autumn leaves only on the 29th of last month, 19 days later than last year and 15 days later than previous years,
It was recorded as the latest late autumn leaves in 33 years since the observation of
.

How about November, when the winter cold continues below zero from the beginning?

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) predicted that the early November was cold in the mid-term forecast and the month forecast, but relatively mild autumn weather will continue for the next 10 days or so, exceeding the previous year's temperature by 3-4 degrees.

In addition, the possibility of higher temperatures than usual in late November was analyzed to be more than 60%.

[Im Kyo-soon / Climate Prediction Officer of the Korea Meteorological Administration: Higher-than-normal sea surface temperatures in the Northwest Pacific will strengthen the high-pressure circulation around the country, so temperatures will be higher than usual in November. On the other hand, there will be times when it is temporarily affected by the upper cold air.]

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) asked for continued preparation, saying that the temperature change due to the daily temperature difference may be greater and precipitation will be more gentle than usual in the rest of the fall.
