A van hit the guardrail in Uiseong, North Gyeongsang Province...3 seriously injured and 9 slightly injured

At around 6 a.m. today (10th), the tire of the van driving on the Cheongju-Yeongdeok Expressway in Danmil-myeon, Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do exploded and hit the guardrail.

At that time, 12 elderly people in their 60s and 70s, including the driver, were in the vehicle, with three seriously injured and six lightly injured.

All are known to be non-life-threatening.

They were on their way to Cheongsong to pick apples, the investigation found.

Police believe the accident occurred when the tire behind the vehicle exploded, and are investigating the cause of the accident based on witness statements and black boxes.
